Main task: talking, talking and discussing
The text comes from Katja Förster. She is a teacher at Bismarckschule Elmshorn

At the Bismarckschule in Elmshorn, children meet and learn to play and play once a week. The sponsorship project sponsored by Stiftung Bildung also included a cultural rally and an excursion to the animal park.

The DaZ class (German as a second language) has received much support from its sponsors and sponsors during this school year. In December, six of our teenagers sponsored sponsorship with DaZ class pupils on the sponsorship program of the Foundation for Education. In the second half of the year, this project became a little bit more like a "DaZ island", at least on Monday in the 7th lesson. At this hour everyone was doing exercises together with a godmother or a godmother. The main task: talking, talking and discussing. These hours were always very lively and lively because many students were talking to each other at the same time in tandems.

Over the course of the months, more and more pupils who wanted to join, so that at the end of the school year every pupil with a flouting experience had a godmother or a godfather available. It was especially nice for the teacher that in the end she could almost indiscriminately assemble the tandems on the montages. Surprisingly well the young people with the cultural differences clear, for example the cooperation between boys and girls worked almost smoothly. And the German native speakers were often amazed at the concrete difficulties of the newcomers in the language acquisition.

More and more pupils wanted to join
It was extremely interesting for everyone to see a game afternoons, in which everyone participated in the cultural rally. In this game, players find out how it is when they are suddenly in an environment in which their own, supposedly universal rules are no longer true. Each group learns at the beginning specific gestures to be executed when dicing certain symbols. The group plays around chips and who can not assign the diced symbol of the corresponding gesture fast enough, must pay chips. After a while the players with the most chips to the table change their places and go to another table. However, there are quite different assignments and rules to the symbols, without knowing it, because the game can not be spoken during the game. Thus confusion and perplexity arise. It is interesting to see how different the players play with it. This afternoon, almost 30 students participated and everyone had a lot of fun.

From these encounters, the students of the DaZ class were able to establish initial contacts for contacts, also for help with offices or even helpers.

In July we all visited the animal park Hagenbeck in Hamburg as a highlight of the sponsorship project. 25 schoolchildren and three companions walked through the animal park in a cheerful mood. All of the elephants, the Mandrills and the petting zoo were enthusiastic. The fact that the weather did not play and that it rained more or less heavily throughout the day did not stop the good mood. The highlight in the end was the feeding of the bears and everyone was amazed at the whole chicken for dessert! We came back to Elmshorn in the late afternoon.

It would be nice if this sponsorship project could be continued next year!
