Self-awareness and environmental awareness in a project

In the school for the mentally impaired together in Wefensleben (Saxony-Anhalt), the pupil's company to-na-flor inspires all children from one source for pottery, handicrafts and works. , Since 2006, young people have been given the opportunity to improve their own craft skills and sell the resulting products.

The pupils produce objects of everyday use and decorative items made of wood, clay and natural materials. The focus is not only on the craftsmanship skills and the construction of self-confidence, but also on the education of environmentally conscious thinking and action.

The largest presentation and sales highlights are school projects, festivities, anniversaries and the annual school market.

The association of parents, friends and sponsors of the school "Miteinander" School for the mentally impaired in Wefensleben e.V., founded in 1993, is a 30% profit. These funds are made available for other school projects. This ensures the participation in the project success for all schoolchildren of the school.

This project is a form of teaching and has for years been a permanent learning offer for the young people at the upper and lower level. This project is accompanied by teachers and educational staff at the Förderschule. In each school year, they work with a student team of different age, so the student company is secured in the long term.

The pupils use the acquired abilities and skills across the board during school day. This project also offers good orientation options for the postgraduate career.
